Purchasing event tickets for an Olympic Games is unique. Before you purchase tickets on the Cartan website, please take the time to review the important steps below designed to better prepare you and understand the process.
1) Cartan’s individual ticket sale for PyeongChang 2018™ will be conducted on a first-come, first- served basis. In order to start the purchasing process, you will need to first create an account. Once the account is created, the client will receive a confirmation email to access ONLY the ticket allocation for their respective country.
2) If tickets are available, full payment will be collected using the credit card provided.
3) All ticket purchases are non-refundable unless cancelled by PyeongChang 2018. If cancelled by PyeongChang 2018, all refunds will be paid after the Games.
4) There is a MAXIMUM of 4 tickets per event session that can be purchased.
5) All ticket purchases are subject to review and approval of the IOC and PyeongChang 2018™ Olympic Organizing Committee.
6) All tickets will be cancelled if not paid in full within 48 HOURS.
The SELLING PRICES shown in Cartan’s PyeongChang 2018™ Ticket Brochure are in U.S. dollars and include all IOC and PyeongChang 2018™ approved handling fees and currency conversions. Additionally, all ticket prices include a 20% handling fee which is capped at KWN (Korean Won) 100,000 per ticket.
All of Cartan’s ticket prices were established and approved at an IOC/PyeongChang 2018™ fixed conversion rate of 1 U.S. Dollar = .00009769 against the KWN face value for each ticket which are also listed as a matter of reference within the Ticket Brochure.
Although currency rates change from time to time, this same rate will be applicable for all ticket prices unless extreme fluctuation occurs between the USD and KWN as determined by Cartan and subsequently approved by the IOC and PyeongChang 2018™.
Additionally, Cartan has provided a COMPARATIVE PRICING LIST which shows the ticket prices in each country’s local currency. However, all of Cartan’s tickets are sold in US Dollars.
Each ticket is sold for a single session, date, location and price. Depending upon the sport, there are up to four price categories per session although Cartan was not allocated tickets in every category for all sessions. Each ticket gives access to all events listed within that session in the Event Schedule.
For example, each ticket is represented by its own TICKET CODE as follows:
SJP01A (i.e. the ticket code)
SJP = Ski Jumping (the sport abbreviation)
01 = The first session of this sport
A = Top price category*
* Where there is only one price category for tickets, these are all coded with “A”
PLEASE NOTE that dates and times given for the events are based on the most up-to-date information available to Cartan and are subject to change in response to alterations to the program made by the IOC and PyeongChang 2018™. Cartan will use its best efforts to keep you updated on any changes that might affect your choice of tickets.
Events tickets are only available to residents of countries in which Cartan has been appointed the Authorized Ticket Reseller (ATR). A valid address is required when ordering tickets and when picking them up from our ticketing office in PyeongChang. In addition you must submit a copy of proof of residency to Cartan.
Please not that Cartan reserves the right to refuse to release tickets to anyone that cannot provide proof of residency at the time of collection.
The Opening and Closing Ceremonies of any Olympic Games are the focal point of great interest and anticipation. With a worldwide audience of around four billion expected to be watching the Ceremonies “live” on television, the demand for tickets is always insatiable. While Cartan has secured an initial allocation of tickets for both Ceremonies, and will continue to try to request more, the overall number of tickets that we will receive is likely to be very small in comparison to the demand.
All venues will have designated disabled seating. However, the number of spaces will vary from venue to venue. In addition, most official transportation vehicles are expected to be designated to be accessible to spectators with different types of special needs. It should be noted, however, that it might not be possible to get to the gates of every venue on the transportation system, so some walking may still be required.
If you are a wheelchair-user, limited in your mobility or suffering from visual impairment, please ensure that you notify Cartan Global detailing your requirements so that we can relay this information to PyeongChang 2018™ in advance. Please note, however, that seating for “companions” in the designated disabled areas will usually be restricted to one seat, so larger parties including a disabled spectator may not be able to be seated together. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request handicap accessible seating. These tickets need to be requested on an as needed basis from PyeongChang 2018™ and are not guaranteed until confirmed by PyeongChang 2018™.
As in previous Olympic Games, specific venue seating plans are not currently available. These details will only be advised to us shortly before the start of the Games, so no notification of seat locations or other stadium information can be given out prior to the actual distribution of tickets.
In addition, Cartan may not be able to seat groups or large parties together. There are also a number of venues which will be designated as “general admission” – i.e. a ticket is required for entry, but there is no reserved seating. Therefore, Cartan strongly encourages spectators to plan accordingly and arrive at general admission venues several hours before the event in order to secure preferred seating.
Specifically any tickets in the B category for outdoor venues (i.e. Biathlon, Bobsled, Luge, Skiing, Snowboarding) are considered General Admission tickets for the Winter Games.
The Event Tickets will NOT be sent to clients before departure to PyeongChang. Event tickets will be distributed from the Cartan Ticket Office in South Korea, which will open a few days before the Opening Ceremony and will remain open throughout the Games.
For guests that purchased a Cartan Travel Package, the tickets will be distributed at their respective hotel upon arrival. A photo ID and proof of residency are required for ticket collection and can only be picked up by the primary ticket user(s).
Location and operating hours of the Cartan Ticket Center will be sent 4-6 weeks before the Games and all ticket purchasers need to allow a minimum of 1 hour to complete the ticket collection process.
To collect tickets, you MUST bring the following identification(s) and documents in order for tickets to be released:
1) A copy of the ticket confirmation from Cartan Global
2) A government issued photo ID matching the name on the Ticket Confirmation
3) Proof of Residency – It is required to bring proof of residency to match the address given at the time your order was placed. Cartan will accept the following forms of proof of residency:
- Passport for the country of residence
- Bank statement/utility bill mailed to the address given at the time of your order
Please be aware that all ticket orders will include a minimal delivery fee as follows:
- Ticket amounts totaling:
- $0-$250 USD = $25.00 USD
- $251-$800 USD – $50.00 USD
- $801+= $75.00 USD
Please ensure that you have read the Cartan’s and PyeongChang’s Event Ticket Terms and Conditions. It is important that you are familiar with these before requesting tickets.
When planning your itinerary, leave plenty of time for traveling to and from the venues and allow for queues entering and exiting the stadiums. You should make sure there is no overlap in time and allow plenty of time for events on the same day, keeping in mind travel time between venues and any other unforeseen delays.
Do not try to visit too many events each day as this will make you extremely tired and will decrease your enjoyment of the Games. We recommend that you try to avoid visiting more than two events per day and if attending an outdoor event, only one event per day should be considered.
List the name of each individual who will be using the event tickets. Only one ticket per event per person may be requested.
The full amount of your ticket selection must accompany your order. Any requests received without full payment will not be processed.
